Lazarus Croft, the dictator of Arcadia reigns over four nations, but now he’s lying on his deathbed with no son behind. Therefore, He orders a dramatic battle among the four generals. The One who captures the flag will win the throne and complete power over the whole empire. The battle takes place at Cloverfield, a place covered by dangerous rocks, deep blue lakes and grassy fields. This game is a free-for-all match, but it can be played in 2V2 team formation too. There’s no elimination and there’s always a chance to win. Players can only make actions during their own turn. Everyone starts with an equal gold supply that can be used to buy new items, units or actions. Players can progress by performing actions on the battlefield with their units. What can be an action? moving on the board shooting other units building new objects exploring secret rocks upgrading a unit in the field Furthermore, there are quick operations that cost no action. Any action can only be executed by soldiers. Each unit has its own skills. Soldiers can drive vehicles, shoot or build new objects for instance. The truck can carry two soldiers and move faster. The tank is a real bulldozer with explosive shot and long shooting range. And the specialist is a real jolly-joker with different skills in each unit. The battlefield is totally random and destructible with almost infinite possible interactions between different units. How the number of actions is decided? An action mode has to be selected at the very beginning of the game; this mechanics determines how the available actions are defined. - In Dice mode available actions are rolled by the dice in each turn. This is a quick and simple simulation with no hesitation, no hard decisions, but the importance of luck is present. - In Card mode available actions are chosen from hand. It’s all about strategy and serious decisions with little or zero effect of luck on the gameplay. Action modes define several interesting mechanisms such as Action buy, Redistribution or Alternative win. Men in Tanks comes with 2 game modes by default; Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, but 5 additional ones may come as stretch goals!
