Description

John Ridgways' Round the World Yacht Race Game 2-6 Players Ages 10-adult From the introduction in the rule book: Members of the crew have spent long hours developing this ingenious Round the world Yacht Race game. It reproduces many of the hazards and strokes of good fortune that the sailor faces in such a venture. The handicap system gives a fair chance to everyone. Contents 1 Game Board (in 3 pieces) 30 Luck Cards 30 Hazard Cards 6 Plastic Yachts 2 Dice(1 Red, 1 Blue) 6 Yacht Cards 7 Score Sheets (Wipe clean) Object of the Game Select a yacht and sail it around the world in the fastest possible time, collecting the minimum handicap score. Gameplay Players select 6 ports that they will visit on their circumnavigation. The two die are use to determine movement (Red = North/South, Blue = East/west) and moves may be completed in any order: the only restriction is that you may not double back Handicap points are gained from: a)the yacht itself b)hazard cards c)every turn taken after the first boat arrives back in Portsmouth d)the cost of the yacht e)ignoring dice rolls/moving only part of a roll Hazard and luck cards are gained from wind systems and pressure zones At the end of the game the yacht with the lowest score wins
