From publisher blurb: A company of adventurers has just arrived at the gates to an impressive city by the sea when they are approached by someone from a nearby village – nearby being some three or four days away. They are experiencing some “difficulties” with things and would like to hire an experienced group of adventurers to help. The person requesting aid asks them to travel to the village (several days away through the forests and hills) and offer assistance to those that still remain. However, dangers lurk within the trees and brush once civilization has been left behind – and the village might offer the least of the worries found. Goblins, skeletons, and wolves – oh my! Everything a starting adventurer needs to grow big and experienced is presented here – and a few other surprises as well that could prove to be challenging to those that don’t heed the “Fight or Flight” gut feeling. Challenges, magic, mystery, risks, and even the occasional lions and tigers and bears stand between the adventurers and their rewards. And, at the very heart of the problems, lies a community with its future threatened by the past.
