Im Elfenbeinturm

(publisher blurb) Man has come a long way, thanks to his curiosity and ingenuity, and has made it to the top of the earthly food chain, ignoring various secret alien races, extraterrestrial monstrosities and gods. Since the Middle Ages, this quest has been organized: at universities, research is conducted in a structured way. Such a searching mind naturally penetrates into zones that remain closed to others. It is not without reason that in Lovecraft's stories it is often scientists or esthete who are confronted with the mythos and break it. Nor is it surprising that CTHULHU has many investigators with an academic background. But what was actually going on at the universities of the 1920s? What special features do academics have and what resources are available to them in the fight against the myth? How do you put that into rules? And of course: Which professions are there with an academic background? Welcome to the ivory tower, which offers answers to all these questions.
