From the introduction: This mini-setting brings the world of Stingers & Spores into a dystopian future. S&S portrays a fantasy setting with a mostly positive outlook on insect life, despite the dangers and struggles. Hiverunners provides a dark vision of a possible future for the Insect Kingdoms, many hundreds of years distant from the events of S&S. Life is bleak, hope is a luxury unobtainable by most, and death literally has become a price to pay for insect-kind to live on.
