Publisher's blurb: High Lords of Marn is a quasi-feudal setting that can best be described as Mesopotamian-Frankish in its flavor. It is a realm in which descendants of an ancient people find themselves dominated by a new culture from “far away”. In this new realm a semi- benevolent entity called Atazaan has brought together the myriad of cultures and forced them to coexist. In this realm, society is highly stratified and adherence to the Law is rigorously enforced. Those who resist know only suffering, exile, or death. For those willing to work within the Law, there is opportunity to serve the Monarch, the High Lords, or the Nithbana – an organization dedicated to serving Atazaan by exposing heresy and treason. Those who escape the Law can work as thieves, rebels, or heretics. High Lords of Marn is a fairly unique setting in that it is not only system agnostic, it is genre agnostic as well. This setting can serve as the focus for fantasy, steampunk, post-apocalyptic, or futuristic stories. Alternatively, the setting could be used indirectly to fill the void as that “far and distant Empire” for campaigns set in a frontier area.
