User Summary A classic arcade platform action game developped for the Atari 2600 in 1984. H.E.R.O. is basically a flick-screen maze platform game, where the player controls a Helocopter Equipped Rescue Operation, a lone rescue agent named Roderick, whose mission is to delve into a dungeon to save a fellow agent. He is equipped with a helicopter backpack, a laser beam and some limited dynamite. Roderick must use the dynamite to blast through walls and the laser beam to destroy enemies. Each level is also timed. When Roderick finds the one he is to save, the stage ends and he's presented with the next. The game was ported to a number of 8-bit consoles and got an Amstrad CPC port as late as 2005.
