From the introduction: Worm is the story of one girl’s journey to escape her problems by throwing herself into even bigger problems. To escape her tormentors, to protect her city, to save the world, and ultimately to save all of humanity across the entire multiverse. She makes many sacrifices and takes even more losses, but in the end the alien menace is defeated. Taylor ends her story in the same way it began, and finds absolution in another world. This is not that story.
