Description

With Geese and Daisies, Johann Rüttinger provides three games using one set of components, and encourages the players to dream up their own variants. Geese uses a pre-defined layout of the paths, and is driven by an elementary roll-and-move mechanism. Certain spaces allow a player to go again, while others make the player miss a turn. Reach the goal by an exact roll. Single-file is a single-pawn-per-player Pachisi variant, using a different pre-defined board layout. The "title game", Geese and Daisies, uses only the goose tiles and daisy tiles, each type in its own stack. The player rolls the die; if its value matches the number of geese and/or daisies, the player takes the tile(s). The player who gets the most tiles this way wins. Although the three games suggested are merely pastimes, with no choices for the players, the rules finish up by offering ideas for other games you might wish to invent, using the components.
