From the introduction: In the territory that is now Lingshen, a provincial governor of the Shu Empire built a reputation for his personal private library, where a team of six librarians skilled in various forms of scrying and conjuration magic used their spells to collect information from across the planes. Eventually the knowledge gathered in the library’s collection drew the attention of the famous sorcerer Hao Jin. She was welcomed, and stayed there to study for weeks on end.
