User summary: First Blood uses numerous elements of tabletop role-playing that will be familiar to experienced gamers. Actions involve rolling 2D6 and adding a modifier and then comparing the result to a Target Number, ranging from 2 (Automatic) through 8 (Serious) to 20 (Nearly Impossible). Resisted actions utilize an opponent roll in place of the Target Number. Combat uses initiative and other more involved mechanisms.
