Description

Firebirds: Huey is a tactical-level, narrative-style solitaire print and play wargame using a tables-based game engine. As the pilot of either a US Army UH-1H Huey Medevac helicopter, a US Army UH-1H air cavalry troop transport helicopter, or an L-19 Bird Dog pilot, your ultimate goal is to survive a 1-year Vietnam tour of duty during the year 1968, while at the same time either trying to extract and return as many wounded US Army soldiers as you can from ‘hot’ landing zones (LZs), insert/extract US Army Soldiers or Rangers in hot LZs, or spot enemy Viet Cong units in FAC (Forward Air Controller) zones and later call in air strikes to take them out. The player will move his helicopter through various travel boxes on a map during each mission on his way to the assigned mission zone, then must successfully return back to home base. Game components include a crewmen placement mat, strategic map mat, tables book, crewmen status sheet, campaign log sheet, and counter sheet representing individual helicopters, enemy units, etc. The game is available as Print and Play on Wargame Vault.
