From the introduction: In the Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong, there is a story of the brilliant strategist Zhuge Liang’s “Empty Fort Strategy”. According to the tale, Zhuge Liang knows that he does not have the resources to defend a city held by his Shu army from an impending attack by Sima Yi and his Wei army.
