From the introduction: Welcome to Marduk! The first thing you’ll notice is the heat, but don’t expect a vacation – this jungle world is one of the deadliest planets in the galaxy. Vicious predators lurk around every corner (and on every path, and up every tree), and the extreme humidity will destroy most advanced technology in short order. To make matters worse, the local sapient species is going through a series of bloody and chaotic wars, and in many places the belligerents will be eager to either treat you as an enemy or try and press you into service.
