Note the rules follow the original DragonQuest section/paragraph numbering scheme, and only the critical rule sections are provides (e.g., no explanatory or flavor text are included). This means that DQ Open Source begins with Section 5.0 Character Generation. Obviously, recourse to an original version of the game would be quite helpful (but the rationale behind creating this version is that a long out-of-print original version is not available). The DQ Open Source book reproduces the first three DragonQuest booklets' rules, sections 5 through 83 (discontinuous).
