From the introduction: Destiny Dice are a set of custom dice for use in role-playing games. It’s a rather baroque way to handle die rolls, with six types of color-coded dice, but once you learn how to use it, it becomes quick and, more importantly, adds an extra dimension of narrative variation to die rolls.
