Deep Volcanites

From publisher blurb: ANCIENT RAYS OF ATAL Life supports all kinds on the water planet of Atal and the deep water vents release steam and magma, so to do they house the deep volcanites. Crusted over with a thick layer of shifting plates and igneous rock, they're also called 'the living islands' by those who encounter them above water. The deep volcanites love their underwater land and commune with life beneath the surface. Their underwater druidic pods surface every so often to share knowledge and ensure the safety of the seas and all that reside within them. Kelp farmers, whale herders, and shark riders, deep volcanites have fierce connection to their world, and understand better than most the delicate balance beneath the waves.
