From the introduction: The characters are all first-year college students, about a month into the school year. They study at a place called “Crawford Institute for the Gifted” - a highly prestigious and lauded academy from which many influential figures have graduated. Due to the brief time, they are acquaintances at best, mostly strangers to each other, as the hectic and diverged curriculum as well as living arrangements don't allow for much interaction between them as of yet. Lately, they all have been going through strange things they had kept to themselves due to being unsure of their reality. What they do know is that their roommates – more senior students – are occasionally going somewhere at night and have been keeping something from them. At the start of the game, the players meet at the hall or common room at midnight, after the senior students had left the rooms, to discuss the strange happenings and try and figure out what is going on.
