User Summary: Cosmic Avenger is a continuous side-scrolling space shooter in which the player pilots a ship with an 8-way joystick control and two action buttons, one for firing lasers and one for dropping bombs onto targets below. It was Universal's answer to Konami's early 1981 release, Scramble. Cosmic Avenger set itself apart from Scramble by introducing enemies that enter the screen from behind the player ship.
