From the introduction: Corona is a game in which several players guide the story of a solar nation in the far future as it faces threats to its survival that come both from outside change and from internal intrigue. It is not a board game, although you may find some visual aids useful to track the state of play, nor is it a card game, although playing cards are used to denote people or things in the game as well as to serve as a randomizer for determining the success of certain actions. Much of what happens in the game takes place entirely in the imaginations of the players.
