User summary Code of Princess in an 2D action RPG beat'em-up in the veins of Golden Axe, and specifically Guardian Heroes. The player controls a character that can walk left, right, jump and attack, and who advances through a 2D environment, defeating tons of enemies in the process. As in Guardian Heroes, instead of free movement around the stage "floor", the game area is divided in three "depth layers", where each layer behaves like a straight-forward 2D fighting environment. Each stage is timed, and the as the story progresses, the player is awarded with more characters to choose from. Before each stage, the player can choose which character to play, and what equipment to equip. The game was developped by Studio Saizensen, and originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on 2012-04-19, published by Agatsuma Entertainment, and in North America on 2012-10-09, published by Atlus. It was ported to the Switch under the title "Code of Princess EX", by the American developper Nicalis and released in NA on 2018-07-31. In Japan, the Switch port was re-localized into Japanese and released on 2018-08-02 by the publisher Nikii.
