From the introduction: A Dark Sun adventure for 4-6 characters levels 11-15 A long time ago, during the great Cleansing Wars, one of the most powerful mages of the dying race of Gnomes, Fyunch'Clik, made a very powerful sword to help the last of the Gnome Kings fight Gallard, the 6th champion of Rajaat and now Sorcerer-King of Nibenay. This sword was the DragonClaw. Except of the powerful combat enchantments, this sword has another special ability. When its master is killed it is automatically teleported to a place in the Plane of Nirvana (Mechanus), the Wheel of Confinement. The mage had traveled the planes and was able to visit the place in the confusion created when several fiends from Acheron tried to enter it (see below why). He gave the sword this power to protect it from falling into the wrong hands. The sage also made a special amulet to help track the sword and help him get it back if its master is killed. In the final battle between the last of the gnome's armies and Nibenay, the gnome king and the sage were killed, the sword vanished and the Amulet of the Claw was lost. Many years later it was found in the hands of some elves when they were arrested by the templars of Hamanu, the Lion of Urik. The elves bought their freedom with this amulet. During its lengthy imprisonment in the Wheel, the sword's character has changed a bit, corrupted maybe by the presence of a very powerful artifact close by.
