From publisher blurb: There are certain aspects of the adventuring lifestyle which are functionally indistinguishable from tomb raiding. More than a few adventurers have pried open the lid of an ancient moss-covered sarcophagus only to get a blast of weapons grade curse straight to the face. In fact, there are many ways for even the most fastidiously law abiding of adventurers to find themselves afflicted by a curse. As the people most likely to meddle/foil the plots of dark gods, evil wizards and capricious fae any adventurers worth their salt are from time to time going to find themselves or their loved one’s labouring under some form of terrible bone breaking, mind shredding, trouser splitting curse. It’s simply the price of doing business. The Catalogue of Contemptible Curses contains D100 Curses to enliven and enrich any campaign or adventure. These curses start at the trivial head straight through the odious and end at the simply horrifying. Some merely represent strange and hopefully fun new roleplaying challenges while others are outright mechanically burdensome. Its possible a few will leave you outright repulsed. We all know TTRPG’s are the most fun when everything seems to be going wrong and the stakes are ratcheted up to breaking point. So next time you need that extra bit of peril reach for one of our contemptible curses.
