From the introduction: The towns of Windholmst and Greenweald are connected by a winding path known as the Jade Road. It hugs the edges of the Witchfen: a thick forest known for housing dangerous flora and fauna. The Jade Road takes a traveller four days to trek across, but would be significantly reduced if one were to cut through the Witchfen. However, all progress made to create a path have ended in abrupt cancellation, and anyone brave - or foolish - enough to take a shortcut seldom returns without injury, madness, or worse.
