Miniatures or counters are used to represent the men, which come in three types: Leaders, Bodyguards, and Followers. The players also choose they type of Warrior Band they are playing: Samurai, Ninja, Monk or Bushi. Each type of Warrior Band uses a custom deck of cards which is central to the play of the game. Card play determines when units may move, attack, and defend.
