BRS - Basic Roleplay System, is distributed under a GNU license as a single ZIP archive containing three files: BRS - DOC format main rules Character Sheet - DOC format Master Spell List - XLS format The system is intended to be a generic, universal system but includes substantial support for a fantasy genre. Characters have six Statistics (Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Willpower, and Charisma) and distribute points from a pool during build. An average human score is 3; a maximum human score is 6. Characters also have several Derived Statistics, primarily dealing with combat. The game includes numerous Skills which characters also purchase from a point pool during build. The maximum starting Skill Level is 18. Skills have a Base Level upon which purchased Skill Levels are built. Skills are increased by expending Experience Points and purchasing training. Combat supports a wide variety of special maneuvers.
