Brady Vasilyev

From publisher blurb: Meet the Penitent… Brady Vasilyev paused plowing to wipe beads of sweat from his forehead. He glanced up at the planet’s twin suns. Looked like it was going to be another hot day; he’d have to redouble his efforts to finish the plowing and back to the farmstead in time. He reflexively scanned the horizon, a practice carried over from his days in the interstellar infantry. A distant flock of birds drew his attention by deciding to take wing at that moment. They weren’t a threat. If anything, he was the only threat for kilometers around. His mind traveled back unbidden to Pondo, and that terrible day that Brady credited with changing him forever and that eventually led him to this world, at this time, to seek redemption… “Brady?” came the small voice from behind. He spun; widened eyes locked on the youngest daughter of the family that had graciously forgiven him. He hadn’t heard her approach. Small eyes sparkled up at him. “Ma says come and eat lunch.” A smile spread across the ex-soldier’s face. “Sure, kiddo,” he answered. Scooping her up and settling her on Shuki’s back, he began releasing the plow from the harness. A terrorist attack on Brady Vasilyev’s homeworld connected to the interstellar government’s traditional enemy launched a war…and a young man on a journey of hatred and nationalism. But as the hell of war became personal, he wound up embarking on a journey of redemption; a redemption he found in the arms of those he once called enemy. Dossier: Brady Vasilyev is a short character sketch for 2D6 science fiction RPGs such as Cepheus Engine and the Original Science Fiction Roleplaying Game (OSFRPG), although it’s usable with other systems with a little work. The file offers a brief character sketch, a personality sketch, character motivation, character stats usable for CE and the OSFRPG, and suggestions for using this repentant ex-soldier in the Referee’s own universe.
