Before faking his death, Aurum Avarus commissioned the mage Kera Kitella to create the golden basilisks for him and a magical ring that would allow him to survive being turned to gold. At his wake, he released his golden basilisks upon the guests, transforming them into monuments to his love of gold and revenge. Perhaps due to the change to his mind or the greatness of his revenge he has remained in his dome, gazing upon the gold. Aurum Avarus is CR 7. It includes a history/background for the encounter, a map, and monster stats.
