Barony is an unusual game, containing three books. The designers are fond of flow charts and skill/encounter trees. Advancement is along a branching path of titles - which branch you may take depends on your abilities and having completed adventures. The first book details character creation and combat rules. The second book is an encounter generation book, and the third is a campaign generator. The game uses both d8s and a tarot deck.
