Description

The Autarchs are sadistic creatures. You should know, being one of them. Galactic Wars have made you the rulers of the known worlds, but now the High Autarch is seeking a new, worthy pastime. Welcome to the Age of Blood and Glory, where you and your opponents will send your fighters to the epic re-enactments of the infamous wars, in the hope of finding favour with the High Autarch. Autarch: The Age of Blood and Glory is an asymmetric PvP arena combat miniature tabletop for 1-4 players, also playable as skirmish, with additional worker placement preparation phase which builds the campaign potential of the game. With two games in one, your journey will alter between merciless arena battles, based on unique dice-less card combat, providing both a macabre and fun experience; and worker-placement phases, where you will strategize your next steps in a push-your-luck environment. Battles are played in a modular arena with different fighter races, developed by advanced deck-building through character leveling and equipping different items. Main mechanics which make up the unique and challenging experience of Autarch include: Initiative Dial mechanism creates a dynamic player order, depending on the played cards; Threat Level defines how much each fighter is worth in every attack, making it less opportunistic to focus on the weaker ones; Dice-replacement Power deck represents effort a player is willing to invest in all of his actions. As both the attacker and the defender will have to use Power, you will not only have to make trade offs between offense and defense, but also test your bluffing skills in an effort to read through your opponent’s secret intentions; Player’s hand being the target of attacks (selected randomly by opponents during successful attacks), with your initial hand being comprised of combat- and defense cards, and clogged with wounds as you get damaged, which may inflict you with permanent injuries. —description from the publisher
