Game Info
Scottish Corridor 1 - The Battle of Normandy 1944 The battle in the Norman countryside along and north of the Odon River. This area was the sight of the ‘Epsom Offensive’ during late June 1944. Montgomery’s offensive to capture Caen would draw a massive response from the cream of Hitler’s remaining SS Panzer forces in Normandy, including 12th Waffen SS Division Hitler Jugend. The offensive, attacked on three sides of the ‘Scottish Corridor’ failed to capture Caen. It did represent a strategic success, drawing off and bleeding off Hitler’s remaining armored fist. The Allied breakthrough would come soon enough, as would the German Rucksmarsch—the precipitous retreat to the Seine that followed the collapse in Normandy. This module includes one new enlarged map that links to Scottish Corridor 2. ASLComp Last Word Editions contain larger maps (with larger hexes), on cardstock, folding with no trimming needed. Ownership of the ASL-RB, and any modules providing the Germans and British, plus standard system marker counters is required to play this historical module.
