From the Introduction: The black plague spreads out of control, global cooling results in reduced food supply, increased population leads to famine and revolt, and kings wage war across Europe ignoring the needs of their kingdoms. The Guilds control knowledge and supplies for crafting most goods and the Church has grown corrupt, exchanging coin for eternal salvation. It is the final days of the middle ages, possibly the final days of the human race. Will our heroes survive and perhaps even spark a rebirth of civilization before the end of days?
