Afterglow is the hyperlight space skirmish wargame set in the far future. The players assume the role of STARCORE Commanders, a hybrid of human sentience and an alien supercomputer, and control a task force of hyper-sophisticated warships in objective-based battles. Players design their task force of one to three ships using cards, then plot their actions against one another simultaneously. There is no randomization and every action pushes a game towards it's definitive conclusion. Every attack is potentially lethal and there is no armour. The only protection is for the ships to briefly travel back through time and space to a safe location: this is known as the Afterglow effect. —description from the designer
