But after a water weird attacks the town square, the adventures investigate further and discover that the spring is a portal to the elemental plane of water, held open by an imprisoned marid. If they choose to free the marid, she asks the party to retrieve something for her – in exchange for a wish. That means investigating the mayor himself, and robbing the town of the spring that has given it its recent prosperity.
