From the introduction: A Blinking Light is a competitive adventure for the six 7th-level pregenerated characters included with the adventure. Using characters other than those provided is not allowed in sanctioned play, since the characters are designed to fit specifically into the story and encounters of the adventure. Players participating in the event earn rewards that can be applied to one D&D Adventurers League Oracle of War campaign character. Rewards can only be applied to a single Oracle of War character, as described on the official reward certificate provided to players at the end of this event (see appendix C). The event run time is 4 hours, including a short time at the end of the event for scores to be tallied and winners announced.
