Publisher's blurb: People were committed to Insane Asylums for a variety of mental, physical and social reasons. Whether they were committed to contain a disease, hide socially embarrassing condition, to gain an inheritance, end a marriage, hide an accusation or address a true mental disease or limitation, everyone was committed for a reason. This list is intended for any 19th century to late 1920s campaigns (like Call of Cthulhu, Gangbusters, Pulp Hero, Justice Inc., etc.) where social planning and psychology tried to address issues of sickness, poverty, and mental illness. This list can be applied to an inconvenient family member, an arrested criminal, a sick soldier, or an abused street urchin. Any entries with a “*” are intended for women only. This roleplaying tool is intended to provide more realism and a new dimension of empathy to people with experience in old time mental asylums.
