From the introduction: Pirates are ever-popular and this supplement has 100 different pirates that can be used to flesh out the next lot encountered. The pirates are most suited for a traditional fantasy setting, rather than a historical one, due to different races and the use of magic. Some of the pirates are captains, and sometimes their ships are mentioned, whilst others are more ordinary crewmen and -women. Some of the pirates given could be a source of adventure hooks, as the characters are paid to hunt them down. Others could disrupt characters' plans, when their ship is attacked. Or they could simply be used to liven up a port's watering hole.
