Description

Publisher Blurb: Books can be a valuable source of clues and information, and therefore can be useful in an adventure. Some are valuable as items of treasure on their own right. Not every book encountered has this type of value or worth, though. Some of those books found may be factually wrong, contain misinformation or simply be of limited use or irrelevant. This is a collection of 100 different low-value books that could be found in the Monarchies of Mau. These can be used to flesh out a bookshelf, whether it be at the Library in the Trees or simply a collection of books belonging to a noble. All the books have been written by cats; there aren't any works of the Old Ones in the list. In a fantasy setting, even a generally useless book will usually be worth a small amount of money, as books in general can be uncommon. Whether a book has any in-game value or use is up to the Guide. This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier. Here are some sample results: Rulers of the Air? by Tobian von Korat (Looks into the so-called intelligent birds who are alleged to control the skies; the author clearly doubts they are truly intelligent) Ship Construction by Allain Siberian von Rex (The basic principles of building ships with hulls resistant to the damages of the Acid Sea through the use of plastic) Studying Badgers: Society, Enemies and Tribes by Mary von Korat (A reasonably unbiased study of how badgers organise and behave) Tales of the Deep River by Marissa von Rex (A collection of, probably fictional, stories of adventures on the Deep River) Tea and How to Serve It by Jonas Devon von Korat (An extremely extensive coverage of the best ways of serving tea) Two pages are the front and rear covers and two pages are the Open Game License and credits.
