PC Gaming Show, the annual live-streamed event that showcases new and upcoming video games, is taking place the 28th of September in Tokyo. Marking this as the first time PC Gamer has hosted an event in Japan’s capital. It will be part of the Tokyo Game show 2025, and will include exclusive trailers, developer interviews and world premiere announcements. 

Since June 2025, from their first edition at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, PC Gaming Show has announced the latest game world premieres, trailers and previews. This event has been expanding its reach with multiple events, creating content targeted for PC gamers and partnering with streamers to enlarge their audience and community participation in a co-streaming partnership.

In a time when mobile gaming is booming and cross-platform gaming is bridging the gap between console users, it can sometimes feel like PC Gamers are being left on the sidelines.

However, the number of PC game users has only increased since 2020, when Playtime showed a significant increase due to COVID-Lockdowns. 

According to the research conducted by Statista, Number of PC gaming users worldwide from 2008 to 2024, PC gamers have been increasing through the years. Showing a significant growth between 2019 (1,553.3 millions) and 2020 (1,745.7 millions), and has continued to grow to the most recent number of  1,855.7 million in 2024.

PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, is the event that PC gamers and fans of PC Gamer events have been waiting for. A space dedicated to PC gamers, packed with announcements of new releases, trailers and interviews.

What to expect of PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct

Last June, PC Gaming Show was part of the 2025 Summer Game Fest lineup and reached a total of 51 million views. In this past edition PC Gaming Show aired 70+ titles across developers and publishers. 

In an interview with Variety, Pc Gaming show editorial director Jake Tucker said:

“Fans of the PC Gaming Show will know that this is the first time we have ever been on the ground in Tokyo and we can’t wait to bring viewers a sense of what Tokyo Game Show 2025 is really like and a glimpse into PC development in Japan.”

This digital showcase is the first  on-site  from the Tokyo Game Show. In this edition, PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct will be presenting over 30 games, in an event filled with world premieres, gameplays and interviews filmed around the world.

The event will be broadcast on the final day of Tokyo Game Show, a perfect event before the closing ceremony that demonstrates how PC gaming continues to gain ground in the global market.

Elle Osili-Wood

  • Videogame actor and tv presenter.
  • Known for hosting twice the prestigious BAFTA Game Awards.
  • Voice of  BBC 3’s Sound of Gaming.

Mr. Midas

  • Video producer.
  • Video game and Esports Host.
  • Host of : Stream Shuffle , WTF, From the Jump and Press X to Continue.

The confirmed attendees

As of today, the full line up of attendees has yet to be confirmed, but among the publishers and studios who have already confirmed  their participation are Devolver Digital, Sega, Nightdive Studios

SEGA

There is speculation among players that SEGA could unveil new developments for its most renowned Japanese franchises and global projects for 2025. Given the corporation’s active development of various titles, fans can anticipate exciting reveals during the showcase.

It is important to note that SEGA is also attending the Tokyo Game Show 2025 event. This suggests that some of their announcements will not take place during the PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct event.

Devolver Digital

While the announcements of the American video game publisher at PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct have not been disclosed. Devolver Digital is known for its unique approach and their history  showcasing a diverse amount of indie titles. 

Fans and gamers can anticipate exciting reveals from new games known to be in development, enhanced features, and crossplay. 

Nightdive Studios

Following the video game has been up to, releasing System Shock 2, teasing about working  on SiN:reloaded  and other remasters of classic games. Gamers speculate Nightdive Studios could release new trailers or announce  a new game restoration at PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct.

As announced by PC Gamer, PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct will air on Sunday, September 28th. The stream starts at:

  • 9 am PT (Pacific Time)
  • 12 pm ET (Easter Time)
  • 6 pm CET (Central European Time)
  • 5 pm BST (British Summer Time)
  • 1 am for the people watching it from Japan
