Stardew Valley <\/a>has plenty of secrets waiting to be discovered by players. Even ten years after its release, the game continues to surprise the community with hidden events and rewards, rare dialogue interactions, secret notes, and mysterious obscure mechanics<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

From rare items, unusual NPC schedules to hide easter eggs, to rewards concealed in plain sight. Only players who explore carefully, pay attention to the environment and try unexpected actions, are able to uncover the secrets that others might miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stardew Valley, Cosy and Full of Secrets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stardew Valley is an open-ended country-life RPG. In this cosy game<\/a>, the player enters a world in which they have inherited their grandfather’s farm. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, the player sets out to begin a new life, live off the land and turn the abandoned overgrown fields into a thriving home.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its publication in 2016, Stardew Valley has hidden countless secrets, rare objects and furniture, and mysteries. Many of these require specific objects or timing. While others are just hidden in plain sight. Some of these secrets are helpful to the character development, or can be very profitable. On the other hand, others are merely aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hidden Secrets in Stardew Valley: Items, rewards and crops<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Crop Fairy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The crop fairy is a random event that can occur on the player’s farm that happens overnight. Except in winter or on the last day of a season, there\u2019s only a 1% chance of the fairy event happening. There is no specific action or build up to this event that can guarantee its visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the player goes to bed, a cut scene will appear, chowing a small fairy flying towards a patch of growing crops. The fairy will apply its magic that will make them grow instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there are no specific actions that can guarantee the crop fairy\u2019s cutscene, there are several factors that can increase the player\u2019s chances. Such as a large number of crops planted on their farm. The crop fairy will select a 5×5 area of the crops in the player\u2019s farm and grow them instantly. These crops will be ready\u00a0for harvest the next morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ??HMTGF?? Item<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The ??HMTGF?? is a secret piece of furniture that can be obtained by placing a Super Cucumber in the brown box located north of the blacksmith shop. The player can find this box inside the fenced area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The player can access the fenced area through a hole in the fence. The entrance is hidden behind a near by tree on the right-hand side of the enclosure. Once the player accesses the enclosure, they can walk behind\u00a0a tree to find the box. Introduce the Supper Cucumber inside and get the ??HMTGF?? Statue. This unique piece can be moved by holding left-click, or using a tool.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some players speculate about the meaning behind ??HMTGF?? is a reference to a song called \u201ctredecim\u201d by the Gracious Few which has lyrics about the harvest moon. According to this theory, ??HMTGF?? means “Harvest Moon The Gracious Few”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Meowmere Sword<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Meowmere secret sword is an unusual weapon from a far away land. It is based on the weapon of the same name in Terraria. When this sword slays enemies, they explode into rainbows.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to obtain the Meowmere Sword, the player needs first an Ancient Doll. To get an Ancient Doll, the player must dig up an artifact spot in The Mountain, Cindersap Forest, Bus Stop, or Pelican Town, and inside Fishing Treasure Chests. Additionally, it can also be received as a present from Jas, Leo, or Vincent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the player has the doll, they\u2019ll need to cast it into lava on level 100 of the mines or at the Volcano Caldera. A bone serpent will appear and give the player the Far Away Stone. Then, the player must take the Far Away stone to the Wizard\u2019s Tower, and place it on the pedestal in the basement to open a portal. Following this, a cat will appear and present the player with the Mowmere sword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning Children into Doves<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Turning children into doves is a possible action in Stardew Valley. As the ability to have children in game limits players to two children, there is also a way to magically make them disappear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing the \u201cdark talisman\u201d and \u201cgoblin problem\u201d missions, everything in the Witch\u2019s hut is available. Inside the Hut, the player can find three shrines. The one on the left with yellow leaves and two tiny doves is the Shrine of Selfishness. This shine has the power to turn the player\u2019s children into doves. Once the children are turned into doves they fly away forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the transformation of their children, the player will receive a phone call filled with static and a voice will claim that the player has forsaken them. Later, if the player watches TV on fall 26, (before the Spirit’s festival) and selects \u201c???\u201d, an ancient doll will appear onscreen. The doll will deliver a message about being set free before jumping out of the screen. Form this point on, every to the witch\u2019s hut will set up a fight with the doll. The doll will transform into a black bird, after every time it’s killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Grow Giant Crops<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Stardew Valley, giant crops can only spawn in\u00a03×3 planted pots of land growing the same type of crop. These are regular crops that magically grow into a giant one overnight. And even if the planted field meets the conditions, there\u2019s still only a 1% chase for a giant crop to spawn each time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
